FILMONOMICS QUARTERLY
Quarterly Event
Ted-style data led talks & debates with special guests followed by a pop up screenings and network drinks.
how it works
FILMONOMICS QUARTERLY is our London-based event for filmmakers and film executives who want to connect to the cutting edge issues around gender equality in film. With key notes, lightning talks, networking and thought-provoking debate on the current challenges, and how we build a more equal film future. It is also an opportunity to celebrate new work coming up, and to connect to others. The watch words for these quarterly symposiums are fun, informative, conscious and clever.
We encourage everyone who has attended our Filmonomics programme, or other equivalents, to attend, but we also welcome those who are part of the feature film industry.
COURSE LEADER
Mia Bays
Mia Bays is an Oscar-winning, twice BAFTA nominated, producer on documentary and fiction. She has worked on over 50 features in various capacities, as a distributor, producer, writer (most recent credits are LETTERS FROM BAGHDAD, voiced by Tilda Swinton, released by Verve in 2017), and has held such roles as Creative Producer on the Microwave micro-budget scheme 2007-14 (LILTING, SHIFTY, ILL MANORS, STRAWBERRY FIELDS, etc). She is passionate about raising the volume of the female voice across the film value chain. She began her career in the film industry in distribution, in the early ’90s, working for Romaine Hart, a successful female distributor and exhibitor – and her first role model.
