Chinonye Chukwu is a Nigerian-American film director best known for the drama film Clemency (2019). She is the first black woman to win the U.S. Dramatic Grand Jury Prize at Sundance.
Clemency was nominated for Best Screenplay in both the Indie Spirit and NAACP Awards 2019 and her next project is directing AMERICANAH the series based on the acclaimed novel by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
