MAEVE is a powerful take on the issues of feminism and nationalism, a film rich in debate and disruption and a landmark of 1980s independent filmmaking.

Presenting a feminist alternative to the conventional treatment of The Troubles, filmmakers Pat Murphy and John Davis broke new ground with an experimental approach which challenged many mainstream cinema conventions of the time.

Following the screening Melanie Iredale, director of Birds Eye View hosts a Q&A with Christine Molloy, co-director/writer of ROSE PLAYS JULIE, Selina Robertson of Club Des Femmes and Dr. Emmie McFadden, Course leader, Film Studies at Sheffield Hallam University.
