Filmed over five years this unflinching account explores life on the margins of society, documenting challenges, longing and dreams, all met with Lucky’s fierce resilience.
Director Laura Checkoway is a Brooklyn-based journalist-turned filmmaker who has worked for Rolling Stone, Vibe Magazine and Village Voice. Lucky is her debut feature and was pegged as one of IndieWire’s ’10 Films You Must See’.
