Clash By Night – an early Marilyn Monroe classic

Clash By Night starring Marilyn Monroe as part of the Festival of Film season at the Royal Albert Hall, with guest speaker Dr Jacqueline Rose

We have wanted to host an event with the eminent Dr Jacqueline Rose for some time, and we have finally fulfilled this – join us at the Royal Albert Hall to hear her discuss Marilyn Monroe and more after a screening of one of Marilyn’s early great works, CLASH BY NIGHT by Fritz Lang also starring Barbara Stanwyck

Join us in the Hall’s Elgar Room for a rare screening of 1952 film noir Clash By Night, showcasing a lesser known side of iconic American actress Marilyn Monroe.

Directed by Fritz Lang and also starring Barbara Stanwyck, Paul Douglas and Keith Andes, Clash by Night captures the stark realities of life in a Californian fishing village, with Monroe playing the role of happy-go-lucky fish cannery worker Peggy.

This event will also feature a post-film screening discussion on Marilyn Monroe, led by Oscar-winning producer Mia Bays, featuring internationally-acclaimed writer and Marilyn Monroe fan, Dr Jacqueline Rose.
