Florence and the machine

Florence Welsh has her roots in the rough and ragged sound of American pre-war folk and blues, singing dark subject matter with raw emotion. Accompanied by a different - disposable? - male guitarist at most gigs, she has the kooky stagecraft of Kate Bush, feisty growl of Janis Joplin and pastoral menace of Sandy Denny.

Peggy Sue & the pirates

A lo-fi duo: Rosa 'REX' Slade and KatyBeth 'KLAW' Young. Armed with beautiful harmonies, a selection of 'doo-be-doos' and an armful of bass lines the girls have supported Skye (formerly of Morcheeba ), Lou Rhodes (formerly one half of Lamb ) and most recently Kate Nash.

The Broken Hearts

“This act is full of the style and panache that will leave onlookers gawping enviously from the sidelines” Artrocker

The Broken Hearts are Amber and Nisha: a DJ and performance duo who see every show as an opportunity to get dressed up. Combining an eclectic DJ set with their extensive wardrobe of identical costumes and occasional choreographed routines, the girls provide a spectacular experience for the eyes and ears. Drawing from the iconography of Weimar Berlin, circus sideshows and the Golden Age of Hollywood their show is a technicolour extravaganza that takes the DJ out from behind the decks and into the limelight.

The Laundrettas

Women on the edge, the Laundrettas mission is to bring a little more love and light into this depressed and cynical world. A 15 strong troupe of ladies: by day a sanctuary of domestic bliss as the infamous fifties housewives, by night playing out their dreams & fantasies. Famous for installations and wild happenings they are the darlings of the festival scene, regulars at Glastonbury, Bestival, Big Chill, Shambala, Electric Picnic and Leeds.

Girlcore

Sugar and spice, and all things nice, that's what little girls are made of. Until, that is, they hit their early twenties, move to Hackney, form a DIY collective that's just for girls, and cause near-hysteria on the dancefloor at their riotous, mashed-up parties. From the worlds of media, music, fashion and performance art these ladies are famed for their wild monthly night at Catch in Shoreditch and recently hosted the first London leg of Paris' infamous iPod Battle.

Jewelspit & Your Mum

.Kelly Budge (Your Mum Visuals) began her creative journey as a graphic designer. In 1998 she discovered the world of audiovisuals and began experimenting with 16mm film loops, 35mm slide and video projections. Kelly now works mostly with digital technology but her work still reflects a more organic approached to visual performance, linking her past with the present, she has created a visual style of richly textured imagery and graphics. Kelly has made VJ appearances at countless festivals and events world wide. Brands she has collaborated with include Groove Armada, Nitin Sawhney, Tony Allen, Ben Watt (EBTG), Thievery Corporation, and DJs such as Robert Miles, Mylo, Howie B, DJ storm, and many more.

VJ Bopa

Bopa has established herself as a brilliant live performer and she has also created bespoke visuals for numerous bands such as The Streets, Tunng and Rotating Leslie. As well as the many club nights at which Bopa has performed, her work has taken her to some of the UK's premier music events including Glastonbury, Global Gathering and the Big Chill. Never one to shy away from high profile events, she has created visuals for such companies as Vodafone, Bacardi and Intel. She has even collaborated with Oxfam for several of their global campaigns including Make Poverty History, Make Trade Fair and Control Arms

Plaster Of Paris

Plaster of Paris are a south London duo consisting of of guitar,  vocals and kazoomaphone (a kazoo/gramaphone hybrid) skipping from folk, klezma and chanson to jazz and opera. While guitarist Lewis srums gypsy styled ditties, vocalist Molly depicts stories of love, lust and woe in her extraordinary operatic voice.

PLUS screenings of the following fabulous film:

Viva dir. Anna Biller, US 2007, 120mins

Meticulously constructed - from the cheesy acting and stilted direction to the shag sets and vintage film stock - "Viva" is a pitch perfect resurrection of the Valley of the Dolls days of cinema. – Indiewire

VIVA is a cult freak-out retro 1970's spectacle, about a bored housewife who gets sucked into the sexual revolution. Drawing on classic exploitation cinema for its look and characters VIVA is wickedly riotous. With stylish sex scenes, a sea of polyester, Hammond organ jams, glitzy show numbers, white horses, blondes in the bathtub, uber-camp hairdressers and psychedelic animation, director and star Anna Biller is really spoiling us!
