UNRELATED + Q&A with director & producer
(Joanna Hogg, UK 2007, 100’)

ICA CINEMA 1
Tuesday 11 March 6.15PM

"Truly impressive" - Geoff Andrew, Time Out

Winner of FIPRESCI International Critics Prize at the 2007 London Film Festival, UNRELATED is a deeply perceptive, continental-style offering following 40-something Anna as she arrives at friend Verena’s Tuscan holiday villa. Childless and in a deteriorating marriage, Anna fears she is condemned to a life on the periphery of events. Everything she is discovering now, she has arrived at too late. Sexual tensions simmer and Anna believes she has found a second chance. Events slowly unravel, and the strains within this affluent bourgeois clique are revealed.

Joanna Hogg started her career as a photographer. She studied directing at the National Film School and became a prolific director of television drama. Unrelated (2007) is her first feature film. She is currently writing a new film, The Eternal Daughter.

Q&A hosted by Jonathan Romney (Independent on Sunday)

This feature is preceded by:

Eddie Procter
(Susana Wallin, UK 2007, 5')

An inventive integration of dance and film which juxtaposes the movements of the young and the old.
