LONDON FILM ACADEMY PANEL: SFX ON A SMALL BUDGET ICA NASH
ROOM 1.30PM to 3.30PM London Film Academy Seminar: Producing High End Digital Visual FX for Low Budget Productions. In this age of powerful low cost computer technology, digital visual effects are no longer the exclusive preserve of Hollywood blockbusters. But incorporating effects into a small budget production requires experience and careful planning if expensive mistakes are to be avoided, and new technologies are frequently changing the creative possibilities. Industry insiders Alan Marques and Dave Barnard demonstrate the working methods used on recent film productions. Alan Marques has 23 years experience in the digital special effects industry and has over 30 feature film and television credits to his name including GoldenEye, Seven Years in Tibet and Werner Herzog's Invincible. He is currently VFX Supervisor and Lead Tutor on LFA’s new Digital Film VFX Course. Dave Barnard has been working with computer and moving image technology for over 20 years. He was Post Production Technical Supervisor on the feature film Mirrormask for the Jim Henson Company. He has also lectured extensively in post-production and digital technology.
