Moving from making short films to the process of feature filmmaking presents many creative, personal and professional challenges. From sketching the perfect timeline to handling contracts and expectations, a panel of industry professionals discuss strategies to manage the transition. With Kate Leys (Feature Film Script Editor), Margaret Matherson (Producer), Rachel Tillotson (Writer / Director), Gayle Griffiths (Producer) and chaired by Rebecca Knapp (Producer).

Kate Leys is a highly experienced script editor.  Kate is currently working
on a number of projects including; The first outline of Julie Myerson's
bestselling novel SOMETHING MIGHT HAPPEN,  the final draft of Ash Ditta's FRENCH FILM and comedian Jimmy Carr on his first screenplay and with writer Toby Young. She also advises both commercial and public film financiers including DNA, The Weinstein Co, Slingshot and Media Plus Europe. Kate Leys is a highly experienced script editor. She has worked with writers on shorts and features for many years and is currently
working on a range of projects including the adaptation of Julie Myerson's novel
SOMETHING MIGHT HAPPEN and feature projects with writers Jimmy Carr,
Noel Clark and Toby Young. She also advises both commercial and public film
financiers including DNA, The Weinstein Co, Slingshot and Media Plus.

Rachel Tillotson has made three shorts winning seven awards since graduating ; Clermont Ferrand, DepicT and two BAFTA nominations. FUEL was funded by FILM FOUR and was distributed in front of the Film Four feature CRUSH in cinema's nationwide. She won a BAFTA in 2002 for the BBC drama OFFSIDE and an RTS in 2004 for GIRLS IN LOVE, Granada . She is currently writing a slate of feature length projects.

Gayle Griffiths graduated in 1998, with the short film Second Hand, (co-production  NFTS/ Polish National Film School ) winning numerous awards, including the Cinéfondation Prize at the 1999 Cannes Film Festival. She went onto produce BAFTA Award-winning first feature, Kiss of Life (premiered at Cannes Film Festival '03) released in the UK ' 04. In 06' she produced feature "Song of Songs"  nominated for a News & Documentary Emmy Award by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. Her company, Wild Horses Film Company is developing a slate of feature projects.

Margaret Matherson is currently producing Skin t hrough her company Bard Entertainments,starring Sophie Okonedo and Sam Neill directed by first timer, Anthony Fabian. Other recent feature films include Vampire Diary, American Cousins and AKA all directed by first time feature directors. She is probably better known for producing
Abigail's Party for the BBC's Play for Today series.

Rebecca Knapp has been involved in film and television production for ten years working on projects in Europe, Africa, Canada and the USA .She produced a series of shorts through her production company Synergen SMK raising over £300,000 from funders such as the UK Film Council , Film Four , the BBC , Scottish Media Group and Carlton Television . These have garnered between them three BAFTA nominations and twenty-four international film awards and feature such British talent as Kevin McKidd ( Trainspotting , 16 Years of Alcohol & Rome ), Laura Fraser ( A Knight's Tale ), Helen McCroy ( The Queen ) and Tony Curran ( Underworld 2 & Red Road ).

Rebecca has also worked as a line producer/production manager of television drama, documentaries and independent feature films. Most notably the feature films Solid Air (May Miles Thomas' follow up to her critically acclaimed One Life Stand ), Frozen (starring Shirley Henderson (Bridget Jones Diary and Harry Potter ), Roshan Seth ( Indiana Jones & The Temple of Doom and Ghandi ) and Hidden Flaws (directed by Academy Award nominee Paula Van der Oest).Rebecca was integral in launching and Director of Programming/Commercial Director for two years at Rapture Television PLC a UK based youth entertainment satellite channel. Where she developed and executive produced all the channels in-house content – programmes, promos and channel idents.Recently with The Content Providers , Rebecca produced the teen comedy Popcorn , written and directed by Darren Paul Fisher . In addition, with Framework Entertainment Rebecca Associate Produced Britain's first Urban Black Gangster movie – Rollin with the Nines (theatrically released in the UK last year, winner of Best British Feature at Raindance Film Festival , and nominated for a BAFTA 2007).
