BILLY THE KID + Q&A
(Jennifer Venditti, US 2007, 84’)

ICA CINEMA 1 Sunday 9 March 8.30PM

Winner: Best Documentary 2007 at SXSW, Edinburgh Film Festival, Melbourne Film Festival; Audience Award Melbourne FF.

"*****Five Stars! Magic! The film floods with a dignity that will have you both rooting for [Billy] and recognizing your own nervous first dates. Don't miss this!" - Josh Rothkopf, Time Out NY

"The first twenty minutes alone is worth the price of admission for the contribution to furthering the language of documentary." - Michael Lerman, indieWIRE

Billy is a 15 year old growing up in small-town Maine, USA. In his own words, he is "different in the mind". However this does not stop him pursuing his goals with inspiring determination and typical adolescent intensity. Brimming with humour and charm, this film speaks to the 15 year old in us all.

With a background in casting for film, advertising and fashion, Jennifer Venditti makes her directorial debut with the award-winning documentary ‘Billy the Kid’. It was while casting for a short film (Sundance winner BUGCRUSH, 2006) that she discovered Billy Price, and recognised the opportunity to capture a truly unique character.
