Actresses is the hilariously off-beat winner of the special jury prize Un Certain Regard at Cannes 2007. Directed by and starring award winning actress Valerie Bruni-Tedeschi as Marcelline, a beautiful 40-year-old actress struggling with rehearsals for Turgenev’s ‘A Month in the Country’. Despite her dazzling presence to all around her, Marcelline secretly yearns for a child and lover. Co-starring the smouldering Louis Garrel (The Dreamers, Dans Paris).
Valeria Bruni-Tedeschi is an award winning director and actress, best known for her roles in films such as Francois Ozon's 5x2, Le Temps Qui Reste and Abbas Kiarostami, Ken Loach and Ermanno Olmi's triptych Tickets. She is also a jury member at the Berlin Film Festival. Actresses is her second film as director.
